🎉 Calling all Carnival lovers! 🎉 Join us as we celebrate 11 years of non-stop excitement and cultural bliss at the Idoma International Carnival! This year, we proudly present 'Olonyi KACHOLALO' - a delightful tribute to the Sweet things of our people. 🍭
The much-awaited 11th edition of Idoma International Carnival is set to sweep through Otukpo, Benue State from the 23rd to the 26th of December, 2023. This four-day extravaganza promises an unforgettable experience packed with fun activities, a celebration of rich culture, and incredible entertainment. Endorsed by Nigeria Federal Ministry of Information and Culture, and Benue State Ministry of Tourism and Culture.
The carnival will burst into life with a captivating gospel jamboree on the 23rd December afternoon - a special thanksgiving event aimed at bringing people together in gratitude. Attendees will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in an atmosphere of praise, joy and appreciation as they kick off the festivities.
Earlier on arrival, before the gospel jamboree, visitors will embark on an enchanting tour of the carnival village. It will serve as a testament to the traditions and cultural heritage of the Idoma people, showcasing their art, craft, music, and dance.
On the morning of the 24th of December, the city streets will be abuzz with the sight of the best Bikers in Nigeria (BIN), parading through the town. Additionally, a fun peace walk will take place, promoting harmony and unity among all participants.
As the day progresses, the city will be engulfed in a cultural explosion from 4 o'clock onwards. Jaw-dropping fire displays, enchanting cultural performances, and a magnificent showcase of traditional masquerades will capture the hearts and minds of spectators.
Christmas Eve after dark throws down with the neon LED-themed Energy Party, alive with pulsating music from A-list musicians and superstar hypemen, creating an electrifying atmosphere that is sure to get everyone on their feet.
The 25th of December, will witness the spectacular carnival parade, and culture fiesta. Carnival-goers will be treated to a magnificent display of exotic masquerades, stunning floats, and vibrant performances that capture the essence of Nigerian cultures, infused with Caribbean flavors.
The festive celebrations continue late into the night with a variety live concert. Chart-topping musician Terry G takes the stage along with a lineup of talented comedians and the best of Idoma's homegrown talent. From side-splitting laughter to soul-stirring performances, this concert promises to keep attendees entertained from dusk till dawn.
The grand finale of the Nigeria Carnival Queen 2023 will mark the culmination of the event on the 26th of December. The pageant promises to be a night of elegance and prestige as the final contestants seek to impress the judges and captivate the audience.
The Idoma International Carnival is a celebration of culture, entertainment, and unity. From the energetic parties to the cultural showcases, each event aims to bring people together and create memories that will last a lifetime. The carnival is also a platform for showcasing local talent, promoting tourism, and stimulating economic growth in the Otukpo community and Benue State.
